Principles
01
Physical training
Classes and private lessons for kids and adults
Fig. 1 — the piste, 14 m, with on-guard lines at 2 m and the warning zones marked
Group classes cover the basics: safety, equipment, bladework, footwork, and bouting. Private lessons are one-on-one with an épée coach.
Where we train
Indoors and outdoors all over Taipei. Sessions move between them week to week.
Fig. 2 — right of way: the attack arrives, the parry answers within one tempo
Bouts are decided by decisions. We drill reading the opponent, choosing the action and reacting without thinking, then go through your competition bouts on video.
03
Data-driven
Everything logged
Fig. 3 — a pool sheet: five fencers, victories and defeats, the diagonal struck out
Every bout is scored and logged, and you see your own numbers. The training plan changes when the numbers say it should.
We coach one weapon and coach it properly. Footwork, distance and timing are the whole game.
Épée
The duel. The whole body is target, there is no right of way, and if both fencers hit within a few hundredths of a second, both touches count. Patient and precise.
Target
Everything, head to foot
Rules
No right of way; double touches count
Double touch
Within 40–50 ms of each other
The blade
Up to 90 cm, the weapon up to 770 g
A touch
The point, pressed with at least 750 g

Cool heads

Bout footage, schedule changes and results, on whichever platform you use.
None. Most people start from zero, and you'll fence a real bout in your first session.
Do I have to compete?
After the beginner course, yes — it leaves you competition-ready. You don't have to win: pick an event, train for it and show up. We handle the registration details.
What language are classes in?
English. Classes, announcements and course notes are all in English.
What should I wear and bring?
Long sports pants (no shorts), indoor trainers, water and a towel. We provide all fencing kit. Tie back long hair; no jewelry on the hands.
Is fencing safe? Is it safe for kids?
It's safer than basketball or soccer. Blades are blunt and flexible, masks are rated to 1600 newtons, and nobody fences without full kit. Kids' lessons start at seven.
How do I sign up?
Message us on LINE, Instagram or Facebook, or send a message from the contact page. We'll tell you where and when to come.
I train at another club. Can I fence with you?
Please do — open training and the park sessions are open to you; the calendar has the dates. Bring your kit (we'll lend what's missing) and message us first. We just ask that our fencers get the same welcome at your club.
What is wireless scoring?
Electric fencing normally wires each fencer to a scoring box through a reel. We use that, and we also built our own wireless units, so we can run scored bouts on any open floor. It keeps costs down.
Where are the park sessions?
The parks we use are on the Locations page, and the days change, so check the calendar. Open to anyone. Wear running shoes; rain plans go up on LINE by 6 a.m.
